Chinese Tasting Tour

Location: 5 different restaurants within 1 minute’s walk from one another in London Chinatown, starting from Manchurian Legends at 12 Macclesfield Street W1D 5BP

Price: £45.00 per person, including 5 dishes, each representing a classic, signature dish from a regional Chinese cuisine, from 5 restaurants, accompanied by wines and beer to compliment each dish.

The Tasting Tour of Regional Chinese Cuisines is a special dining experience where diners can enjoy five signature dishes from five types of Chinese regional cooking: Dongbei (north-east China), Shanghai, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Sichuan! It’s an unmissable food map that one shouldn’t miss!

(1) Manchurian Legends: Slow-braised Pork with Glass Noodles is a special stew dish that represents the rich and hearty flavours and rustic north-east part of China.
*A glass of Château de Campuget white wine is offered.

(2) Dumplings’ Legend: Xiu Long Bao (soup dumpling) is the quintessentially Shanghai delicacy. Each is freshly and skilfully hand-made to order by professional dim sum chefs at Dumplings’ Legend.
*A half-pint of Tiger Beer is offered.

(3) New Fook Lam Moon: Juicy and succulent Roast Duck from Chinatown’s roast specialist – a widely-loved and popular Hong Kong classic!
*A glass of Château de Campuget rosé wine is offered.

(4) Leong’s Legend: Fragrant and flavoursome Three-cup Chicken is a Taiwanese dish so rare to find in London and guarantees to be mouth-watering delicious.
*A glass of Château de Campuget red wine is offered.

(5) Empress of Sichuan: Sichuan dishes are known to be hot and fiery and this Boiled Fish in Spicy Soup is an absolute must-try.
*A half-pint of Sun Lik Beer is offered.

Side orders

A fundamental part of the London Restaurant Festival are the 'fringe' events which we call Side Orders. While LRF creates and operates the larger scale events as outlined opposite we really encourage all those working in the capital's restaurant scene to get creative and devise their own events to run throughout the festival. In 2010 we had over a dozen of these Side Order events going on including the Savoy Truffle Club, Bistroteque pop-up, a Cloudy Bay wine and food matching dinner and Street Kitchen, the mobile restaurant in an airstream. All were a sell-out and garnered plenty of publicity. No matter how small or how off-the-wall, we are interested in hearing your ideas and including them in the line up for LRF 2011.
